This is the area we have allocated to have the arena built. As you can see their is a lot of trees that needs to be taken of and we will re-use what we can. This spot was chosen because the grass is very poor and the area is easy accessible for when we have shows.
Barloworld Equipment have offered us one of their machines to help with the clearance.
Eventually, ALL tree stumps in the arena area have been removed and levelling has now started.

While one person is operating the CAT and taking out the tree stumps, another is removing the stumps out of the arena area via tractor and chain.
The BIG project has started and one of the first tree stumps are on it's way out!
Although we are grateful for the sponsorship of Barloworld for the use of their CAT, we are sad to announce that we could not finish the arena in the time given. The CAT was dropped off close to Horse 'n Home the Friday evening. One of Barloworld's employees and friend at Horse 'n Home was personally there. Two men then tried to figure out this big boys toy. Justin offered 2 days of his leave to work at Horse 'n Home. Work started at 5 am and finished at 8 pm. A lot has to be done! On Sunday afternoon, bad luck struck us - an filter seal leaked and since Monday was a public holiday, we were only able to get a new and correct seal on Tuesday midday. Justin organised to have the loan period extended to the following Saturday morning.
